Kizuna Press was formed in August of 2026 as a humble sole proprietorship: a one-man operation with limited resources and his unfinished draft, eager to become something larger.

On the surface, we founded our micropublishing company with the goal of funding and distributing our first JP-Media inspired Light Novel: Scarlet Sky — but we knew it wasn’t about one particular book, IP, or story.

Kizuna Press wasn’t coming together to participate in the creative ecosystem, but to challenge it. We came together not in celebration of traditional creative infrastructure, but in defiance of the exploitative, extractive nature of modern creative paradigms.

We saw creators and artists being paid contractor wages, bearing the full risk of an unsustainable compensation models and strong-armed into giving away the lions’ share of their ownership.

We saw an industry focused on volume and speed, rather than creator well-being or deep, meaningful narratives.

We saw solo creators subsisting off scraps while corporate shareholders and executives secured lavish returns on the work of those creative, eccentric souls who dare to dream of a better tomorrow.

So, Kizuna Press was created under a single, unting principle — an unwavering commitment of care, respect, and integrity to audiences and creators alike:

To create meaningful stories that embolden us to call out injustices, challenge broken systems, and change the world for the better.

We’re not a traditional publisher. We’re a production house built on equity, dignity, and shared success with the core belief that artists and audiences deserve better.
